Balu and Kalpana’s 8th wedding anniversary
It was another evening to celebrate. Balu and Kalpana completed 8 years of marital bliss. I arrived home by 7 PM as usual from office and was surprised to find that feeding Anirud was a completed task. Normally, it’s an ongoing process and is over either by 7.30 or goes on until 8.00 PM depending upon Ani’s mood to eat food. As is the practice, Ani was the first one to get ready. Every time we have an occasion this fellow has a new dress to wear. Lucky chap. Sometimes I wonder, are we giving too much of everything which would spoil him by making him feel that everything is readily available and be taken for granted. Not that we suffered in our lifetime, but certainly we have been blessed with better things in life which we give to our only lovely child. He wore a full length blue tee with a blue jean and matching canvass shoes. I perhaps wore my first pant when I was probably more than 10 years old. And here is my son who is wearing full pants from his first year onwards.

We get to notice a sea change of life in a generation itself. And my lady love asked me what she should wear for the evening. I suggested her to wear her skirt since we were going out for dinner. She chose her white skirt and a brown top to match it. She looked quite sensual and sensual. There was no denying the fact that I loved to take her pictures endlessly. Okay, I am including my little dude as well, but then wife comes first and lasts until your last breath. When she is in her elements she would pose to my demands and overtures. Mami wore her traditional 9 yards sari.

We went to Oriental hotel, our usual and standard joint where food is dependable and in general is good. Oriental is the tried and tested place over the past several years. By the way, Balu is not very much an experimental person. We arrived there by 8 PM. I took all the photos in my recently acquired Canon digital camera. And when I clicked a couple of photos in the hotel, by then the battery was drained completely. I had bought a black forest cake for the celebration. Once Balu and family arrived at the scene, we cut the cake and then settled down for dinner.

This was a special occasion as Balu’s parents had also come down to Kuwait on visit. We ordered soups, starters and north Indian dishes for dinner. We had manchow soup and gobi Manchurian as the starter along with masala papad. Also the normal papad with chutney is great in Oriental. We were almost half full with the starters. There was a fish tank at oriental, which fascinated the kids Ani and Ritika. Both grandma’s who did not eat anything were entrusted with the task of managing the kids. In between, we had to go and manage the situation as it they could not handle the errant kids. By the time we finished our dinner it was almost 10 PM. Thereafter, Balu insisted that we had to drop into their home. Since it was their day, we obliged politely. Ritika wanted to open the bathroom door to take out the mop stick and clean the floor. After all the tantrums we left by 10.30 PM to our home bidding good night to a wonderful evening. Ani left the hand towel which was given in the hotel at Balu’s place. He made a big tantrum on the way back home and slapped his mother in the lift. I went on a rage and slapped him hard on his head and shouted at him at his delinquent behavior. He cried and vomited and ultimately I became the villain by the night.
